The political left is killing by “turning reality into a parody of itself.”
There is an insidious dark side to organized efforts ostensibly designed to root out false information with “fact checking” and “truth ratings.” When satire is no longer judged by its ability to make us laugh AND to ponder absurdities, but instead labeled as “false information” then society has major problems looming. If the distinction between fake news and satire can be rendered indistinguishable, then the power to censor speech automatically follows.
