Completely agree. Spent 33 years as high school teacher. Today’s teenagers could not give a hoot about civics. They think it is all completely irrelevant and have no interest. Won’t crack the textbook. I see so many posts about this or that issue or anecdote and how the person feels it should be required reading in school. Huh ? These teens today won’t read much of anything. Adults would be astonished at how many teenagers today have never read a novel cover to cover. Very few. Textbooks ? No way. Too busy texting.
